From the Desk - Passover

Shalom Friends! Moadim Lesimcha! This phrase means ‘times of happiness’ and it is the special greeting that we extend to one another on the middle days of Passover. And what a wonderful Yom Tov we had here at Beth Ora! Rabbi Heshy enriched our services with beautiful, uplifting tunes and was so ably assisted on the first day by our wonderful Kids’ Choir and on both days by Jacob Shuster and by Shlomo Petel. It was very special for all who were present to participate in our inspiring services. We look forward to celebrating with you for the rest of the festival. In particular, we are delighted to invite you to join us at Beth Ora on the last day of Passover (Tuesday, April 18th) at 7pm. Come along and eat some more matzah and sing through the songs of the seder. Now that the Omer has begun, we have started our community character project. I have been thinking over the last day as to how I can be more sensitive to people’s needs and how I can help people with the things they are struggling with. I loved reading the article by Sheila Fried on the importance of tzedakah and the piece by Les Satov on the outstanding kindness of Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman. If you haven't had the privilege of receiving these inspiring articles and videos, you can fix that by simply subscribing here. We extend our condolences to the family of Evelyn Borek and the family of Phillip Levine. May Hashem give them comfort and may they know no further sorrow. Wishing the whole community Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach. Rabbi Anthony and Carly Knopf Dovid, Rachelli, Yehuda and Avrami
