From the Desk

Shalom Friends!
I hope that you and your loved ones are keeping well. It's been wonderful to see more of you coming back to synagogue. As you know, this Shabbat morning we will be joined by mayoral candidates, Denis Coderre and Alan DeSousa. We would love to see as many of you as possible!
This Shabbat is also special for another reason: it is the 8th annual Shabbat Project! The pandemic has highlighted to us just how important is our spiritual connection: to each other, to our history, and to G-d. Our Jewish practices also connect us to Jews from around the world; and this is particularly true of the Shabbat Project which has become a global movement.
This week, I encourage you to observe Shabbat, and to make it extra special.
On Thursday evening at 7:30, please join Rebbetzin Carly for a special Zoom Challah Bake. You can access the Zoom link here and you can find the flyer with ingredients and baking instructions at the bottom of this letter.
Before lighting candles on Friday night, I encourage you to print these beautiful reflections on the Jewish tradition of candle-lighting that are almost as beautiful as the light of Shabbat itself.
If you are looking for other ways to enhance your Shabbat, I recommend this downloadable guide to Shabbat which will show you the way from start to finish; from candle-lighting to Havdallah.
I wish you all a Shabbat Project Shalom and am very excited to see you soon!
