I’m pleased to report that last Shabbat’s service in the Sanctuary went well! If the weather scared you off, please join us this Shabbat!
Last week, we hosted a fascinating and important discussion with Tema Smith and Rivka Campbell on racism in the Jewish community. Their discussion highlighted the sensitivity we need to have when interacting with others. Sometimes a comment may be offered in good faith but can be deeply hurtful.
Tonight, our excellent series continues as we welcome to the Zoom room Wendy Eisen, a hero of the Soviet Jewry movement who will tell us some incredible stories from that remarkable chapter in recent Jewish history. Please join us at this link at 8:00 PM.
An enormous amount of work is being put in by the office staff and volunteers to prepare for the holiday season. We are committed to offering the most meaningful connection to Hashem, the beautiful holiday spirit, and the community in these difficult circumstances. Please watch this space for final details on the High Holidays program at Beth Ora.
For those of you who would like to avail yourself of some other online offerings, I encourage you to check out these recordings from the Orthodox Union which include such topics as “Rediscovering Resilience in Turbulent Times” and “Living in the Age of Anxiety.” You may also be interested in World Mizrachi’s Virtual Jewish Heritage Tours, a three part series of tours in India, Greece, and Latvia and Lithuania!
We look forward to being in touch soon!
