There are 613 Alitzvot (commandments) in our Torah, 248 positive ones and 365 negative ones. Many mitzvoth apply to us and many do not. For example, living here in Canada we cannot observe Mitzvoth that have to do with living in Israel. There are, however, many Mitzvoth that can be observed on a daily basis, good deeds that should certainly be a part of our daily routine!

Grades 1-3 & Grades 4-6 in their respective groups will embark on an Mitzvah campaign from January-June 2008. Each child will be given a "bankbook" where they will keep track of their Mitzvoth on a weekly basis. The children will "deposit" the Mitzvoth in our Mitzvah Bank during the first few minutes of each weekly youth activity. The Mitzvoth will be redeemed for "Mitzvah Dollars" which will be used to buy prizes at our Mitzvah Market in early April and Late June.

Special prizes will be given to Mitzvah leaders and to those who come up with unique Mitzvoth that they perform.

Mitzvah examples: Honoring your parents, cleaning your room, charity, helping an older person with groceries, helping a friend in school, taking a dangerous object off the sidewalk where children play etc...

Join us for our regular Shabbat activities! Bing Bang for Pre-school and Shabbat Club for Shabbat Kiddush with Beth Ora Youth! Our flat Kids rate for party sandwiches, chip, cookies and cake for 18 children is $50. Please contact Amiel for more details.

At this time we are accepting registration for our 2008 youth membership. our rates are $18.00 for children of Beth Ora members and $36.00 for children of non-members. Our activities are fun! The children socialize with friends from different schools in the city in a safe and supervised environment. Snack is served at all of our activities. See ya soon!
